Visuals & product video
Product videos for your shop and social channels
The short answer
A useful product video begins with one purpose: show the product, explain its use or introduce an offer. Provide accurate product images, brand files, a clear message and the intended channel. MakeMorrow agrees the concept, length, formats, revision rounds and price in a tailored proposal before production.
What should the viewer understand?
Choose the question the film should answer. A product-page video might show the texture, scale or use of an item. A social video may need to introduce the product before a viewer knows the brand. A short website loop can support the visual identity while the surrounding page provides the explanation.
Put the product and the important detail early in the concept. If the purpose is to explain use, show the relevant action clearly. If the purpose is a reveal, agree which packaging details and brand elements must remain readable. A beautiful shot is useful when it helps the viewer understand the product or message.
Which versions do you need?
Choose the destinations before producing the master. A portrait crop, feed crop and wide website version can need different framing, text positions and timing. The examples below are common production choices; confirm the requirements of the actual placement before export.
| Destination | Possible format | Check before delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Portrait social content | 9:16 edit | Text, product and action remain clear around interface overlays |
| Feed creative | 4:5 or 1:1 edit | Composition fits the crop and the selected placement |
| Website hero | Wide loop suited to the design | File weight, still-image fallback and reduced-motion behaviour |
| Product page | A format that fits the media gallery | Mobile playback, controls, thumbnail and loading |
What should you provide for the brief?
Send clear product photographs from the angles that matter, your original logo and any brand colours or typography. Mark details that must stay exact: product name, label, shade, packaging shape and what is actually included in the offer. Include approved wording for benefits or instructions.
Also state where the film will run, whether it is for an organic post or a paid campaign, and when it is needed. Agree the use of source images, people, music and voice-over. Additional photography, filming, licensed assets and editable project files belong in the scope discussion.
- One product or clearly defined product set.
- Audience, main message and intended next action.
- Source photos or footage, logo and visual references.
- Required destinations, aspect ratios and language versions.
- Deadline, feedback contact and the person approving the final files.
How do you turn the idea into a shot list?
For an illustrative beauty-product video, start with a product reveal, follow with a close-up of an important detail and finish with the product name and next step. A demonstration needs a different sequence: show the starting situation, the application and an accurate view of the result. This is a concept example to adapt to the actual product.
Review the visual direction and wording before making every version. If AI is used in production, compare the output against the original product assets: packaging, logos, label text, colour and shape must remain correct. Use a genuine demonstration when the video needs to prove how a product behaves.
An existing example: By Dash Beauty
The five-second portrait film below is existing MakeMorrow work for By Dash Beauty. It demonstrates a short beauty visual and how the same brand direction can carry into website motion. Use it as a reference for atmosphere and presentation; your project receives its own concept and deliverables.
What determines the cost of a product video?
The quote depends on the source material, concept, number of products, length and number of edits. An edit from suitable existing footage needs different work from a new shoot or a custom animation. Music, voice-over, subtitles, translations and extra revision rounds can also change the scope.
MakeMorrow has no fixed public product-video price. The proposal lists the agreed outputs and review moments. Advertising spend, campaign management and website integration are separate unless expressly included. Compare quotes by deliverables and permitted use, not only by the number of seconds.
What do you check before publishing?
Watch each version on a phone, with and without sound. Check text readability, spelling, product accuracy, the opening frame and the final call to action. Keep important information understandable without depending entirely on music or narration; provide appropriate subtitles when speech carries the message.
For a webshop, test the actual media gallery rather than only the exported file. Shopify supports product video, but the theme needs to support the chosen media and the file must meet its requirements. Check loading, playback and the still image. For an advertising test, agree which creative variants you will compare and how you will review useful outcomes.
Frequently asked questions
Can one video be used on every channel?
The same concept can support several channels, but framing, text and exports often need separate versions. Agree the destinations and deliverables upfront.
Can you work with existing product photos?
Yes, when they are suitable for the agreed concept. We check quality, angles and product accuracy, then discuss any extra material needed.
Is running an advertising campaign included?
Creative production and campaign management are separate services. The proposal specifies whether any advertising setup or website integration is included; media spend is agreed separately.
Will I receive the editable project files?
Only if that is included in the agreement. Confirm the final exports, source files, usage rights and responsibilities before production starts.
